Popeye was on the right path when he chose spinach as his source of vitamins and superpowers. When you were young, you probably didn’t like to eat it. You can have them sometimes in drinks, salads, soups, a sandwich, or even in stew. You can make spinach a part of your daily diet by eating it before breakfast. This way, you can start your day by filling your body with nutrients and vitamins like A, C, and E.

If you are trying to lose weight or maintain a fit figure, you can include this green in any of your meals.

Most red, yellow, or orange vegetables and fruits are spiked with carotenoids — fat-soluble compounds that are associated with a reduction in a wide range of cancers, as well as reduced risk and severity of inflammatory conditions such as asthma and rheumatoid arthritis — but none are as easy to prepare, or have as low a caloric density, as carrots. Aim for 1/2 cup a day. FIT IT IN: Raw baby carrots, sliced raw yellow pepper, butternut squash soup, baked sweet potato, pumpkin pie, mango sorbet, carrot cake
